Welcome!

Hello and welcome to a blog dedicated to the Artful Endeavors group. Founded in 1999, Artful Endeavors is the inspiration, efforts, and results of artists living with psychiatric illnesses who reside in Cambridge and Somerville, MA. It is a small business existing within the structure of the Cambridge/Somerville Social Club, a drop-in center program of North Charles, Inc. Artful Endeavors is designed to serve as a source of pride and has increased self-esteem for its artists by giving them opportunities, focus, and purpose. Artful Endeavors has an exhibition at 1369 cafe in Central Square in October 2008

We have an upcoming group exhibition at the popular Central Square 1369 cafe that has been organized through Out of the Blue Gallery, the Cambridge community gallery that supports the artistic endeavors of local artists like us. Artful Endeavors has a solo art exhibit at the VSA in August 2008

Artful Endeavors artists have been invited back to the Boston VSA Arts of Massachusetts gallery with a solo show in the month of August. We are excited to exhibit in their gallery and continue our partnership with a organization such as the VSA Arts, whose mission is to serve individuals with disabilities by creating opportunities for them to participate in the arts.

Artful Endeavors exhibits artwork at the BCA Cyclorama in July 2008

Artful Endeavors artists have been invited to exhibit with the artists of the VSAM in the Boston Center for the Arts, Cyclorama space. This exhibition happens in conjunction with Access to Theatre performance the week of July 21st. We are very excited to have an opportunity to show our artwork in an impressive and historic venue located in the stylish South End neighborhood of Boston. Artful Endeavors participates in ArtBeat 2008

Artful Endeavors artists embraced the heat of summer along with hundreds of other artists and thousands of festival goers in Davis Square for ArtBeat, one of the area's largest and most innovative arts festivals. We put together an arts & crafts display that included paintings, drawings, prints, cards, calendars, crafts, and jewelry that were all made by artists of The Cambridge Somerville Social Club. We have included pictures of our popular art display for those of you who missed out on this fun community arts event.

Artful Endeavors partners with VSA Artists in the Bloom Show in April 2008

Artful Endeavor artists partnered with VSAM artists (Very Special Arts of Massachusetts) for The Bloom Show in May & June of 2008 in the VSAM Boston art gallery. We exhibited 10 pieces of Spring themed artwork. Please take a look below at our flyer and samples of artwork that were on display.
